Dual-purpose shelters

Imagine a space that benefits your business every day — and the moment an alert sounds, becomes reliable protection for your people. That is a dual-purpose shelter: one investment, two functions, zero idle space.

A space that works every day

In peacetime, a dual-purpose shelter is a fully usable room that can serve your business needs:

  • Warehouse — for goods, equipment, or supplies.
  • Workshop or production area — working space on your premises.
  • Auxiliary room — utility, technical, archive, or changing room.

And when an alert sounds, that same space performs its main function — protecting people. Peacetime use is organised so that it does not impede bringing the shelter to readiness quickly. You do not pay for "dead" square metres: the investment works continuously.

Not a lightweight add-on — certified protection

Dual purpose does not mean a compromise in strength. The "Fortetsia" shelter is a reinforced-concrete structure with 300 mm walls per current DBN standards and a strength of 500 kPa — five times the state minimum of 100 kPa. The structure is certified to DSTU 9329:2025 and holds a certificate of conformity as an above-ground shelter.

Reliability is confirmed not on paper: the shelter passed full-scale proving-ground tests — it withstood the detonation of a 120 mm mine and direct hits from the 125 mm cannon of a T-72 tank with a high-explosive fragmentation shell.

Which model fits

For dual purpose, the Fortetsia 6.0 is optimal — capacity up to 50 people and a space that is easy to adapt to peacetime tasks. The structure scales to the size of your site. See all solutions in the catalogue of "Fortetsia" modular shelters.

Who benefits

  • Manufacturers — a shelter that doubles as a workshop or warehouse, not empty floor space.
  • Business and retail — auxiliary space that also closes the question of protecting people.
  • Communities — a multifunctional room serving community needs and protection at once.

Questions and answers

What is a dual-purpose shelter?
It is a reinforced-concrete above-ground shelter used in peacetime as an auxiliary room (warehouse, workshop, etc.) and protecting people during a threat — provided that peacetime use does not impede bringing it to readiness quickly.

Is it weaker than a regular shelter?
No. It is the same "Fortetsia" reinforced-concrete structure: 500 kPa, 300 mm walls, certified to DSTU 9329:2025, verified by full-scale proving-ground testing.

Which model should I choose for dual purpose?
Most often the Fortetsia 6.0 (up to 50 people). The exact configuration is calculated per site by an engineer.

How long does installation take?
On-site assembly of the structure itself — from 8 hours for basic models; large multi-module ones from 1 day. Manufacturing and delivery are counted separately.
